Do the doorbells need a chime add on?

It depends on the doorbell, usually the hard wired ones (that connect to your transformers wires) work with your original chime.
Just read the product descriptions.
Eufy provides several chime options that can be configured (chosen) in the app. I have mine integrated with Alexa so I receive a nice warm notification through my whole home Sonos stereo system.

Guess you can use the homebase as a chime.
You can use your Homebase. But there is the option to use Amazon Alexa( Echo Show or Dot) if you have one of those things.It depends if you have the hub or not
