Does anyone know what would cause the camera to do this?

Well, I’m just guessing.. if it doesn’t occur all time then possibly it was a firmware update that was taking place at that time.
If it occurs frequently, then possibly the space heater. The heat that it emits maybe triggering the cameras sensor.
Possibly a sound up high and then a motion from the cat. You could try turning off the microphone
A poltergeist? ![]()
Would this be what happens if a wifi blocker was used near the camera?

Ghost
is always the correct answer.

I have the C210, I would suggest turning off sound and auto rotate, then it only tracks movement. That looks like light might have been a factor, my E220s do the auto rotate crap and light reflections really keep them on their toes.
Ok, thanks. I hadn’t seen that before. Then it happened twice in one week.
Just happened to one in a room downstairs but there isn’t any light or heaters. It changes the timestamp on the videos.
Something woke me up last night at 1:40. I checked the camera downstairs and saw my husband leave his bedroom (he snores) to check the downstairs like he heard something.
This morning I looked at the cameras again and the times of the videos had changed.
I’ll try unplugging to give them a break
You probably have sound tracking enabled. It’s likely that noise that woke y’all up (hopefully just snow shifting or falling from your roof if you’re in this part of the US), the cameras trying to find that sound, and if it was snow on the roof that would explain why it shoots upwards.
