I’m unclear on whether the 2K wireless doorbell talks directly to the HomeBase 2 or to the nearest WiFi access point.
My HomeBase 2 is hard-wired via Ethernet to my router. It’s in a convenient spot to hear the chime, but is far from the doorbell. I just installed the doorbell today and it seems to be working fine, but if distance from doorbell to HomeBase will drain the battery, I can reluctantly move the HomeBase closer. I’m just hoping the doorbell speaks WiFi to the nearest wireless access point rather than some private radio protocol to the HomeBase.
