Just ordered four E30 cameras with the 280-home base kit. Will the cameras return to a desired preset position after tracking a person? Also, can you transfer stored data on the cameras between them and the home base storage?

Yes it will return to the default preset position after each recording.
As default it will store all of the recordings on the homebase. No need to transfer between cameras nor the homebase. Think of the homebase as the storage location for all of your cameras that are connected to the homebase
