Security has become a top priority for me—not only to deter incidents but also to ensure I have reliable surveillance footage when needed.
To support that, I’ve built a robust Eufy ecosystem consisting of 17 devices:
- 1 × HomeBase S380 (wired Ethernet)
- 4 × EufyCam E330 (Professional, wired)
- 3 × Indoor Cam S350 4K (wired)
- 1 × Indoor Cam E30 (wired)
- 4 × Outdoor Cam E220 All-in-One (wired)
- 1 × Floodlight Cam S330 (wired)
- 1 × Doorbell C210 (wired)
- 1 × Video Doorbell S330 (wired)
- 1 × Smart Lock C220
Despite having a 1 Gbps download and 40 Mbps upload speed, I noticed persistent buffering issues across my cameras. I initially installed the TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro mesh system and strategically placed satellites to eliminate dead zones—but the performance still fell short.
I ran multiple speed tests, restarted my internet service, repositioned satellites, and tried every troubleshooting step imaginable. Yet, the buffering persisted.
Fortunately, I had an old Orbi RB50 router on hand. I connected it via Ethernet to the TP-Link Deco and placed it in the garage to boost the signal for my floodlight and doorbell cams. Surprisingly, those two devices performed flawlessly—no buffering at all—while the rest of the system on the Deco mesh continued to struggle.
Even the playback of stored events lagged, leading me to suspect my ISP. But after further testing, the real culprit turned out to be the mesh system itself.
I experimented with the TP-Link AX11000 gaming router, which improved camera performance but lacked sufficient coverage. After extensive research, I decided to invest in the Orbi RBK853 system to future-proof my setup and ensure full coverage.
Since installing the new Orbi router and satellites, it’s been a game-changer. My Eufy ecosystem has run smoothly for the past two weeks—no buffering, no delays, and no connectivity issues across any smart home devices.
I was initially hesitant to purchase the Eufy E10 Display as a complement to my security setup, but now that my network is stable and reliable, I feel confident moving forward with it.
