Eufy HomeBase3 with S3 Pro - Connect the Camera's to existing WIFI and Homebase to eth?

Greetings,

Question 1:
I’m wondering if I can connect the S3 Pro cameras to an existing WIFI and the HomeBase 3 to the switch and have everything working smoothly. HomeBase 3 and Camera’s would be on the same VLAN and therefore auto discovery is possible. The building is quite big so there’s no way the built in 2.4GHz on the HomeBase 3 will cover it and it’s made out of concrete with rebars.

Question 2:
Can you setup the S3 Pro on another VLAN/Subnet and set the FQND/IP of the HomeBase 3 in it so it’ll communicate over networks to it?

Thank you.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s possible since that camera works in conjunction with the HB3.

If the camera supports Multi-Bridge then that may be the only available option for you.

unfortunately no to both. The S3 Pro cams don’t join your existing WiFi they pair directly to the HomeBase 3 over its own proprietary link, so you can’t point them at another network or a separate VLAN/IP. For a big concrete building your only real options are relocating the HB3 centrally, or hardwiring cameras that support Ethernet. If you need true multi-VLAN IP camera routing, eufy’s ecosystem isn’t built for it …thats PoE/ONVIF territory

i even can’t reliably connect them to my simple mesh wifi… this is totally not understandable that a device which relies on wifi connection is so poorly for connecting to wifi, i mean i guess it costs more to not let them connect than otherwise… i’m returning this sh*
