Eufy NVR Compatability S3 PRO + E340 FLOODLIGHT

Hi All,

We are moving into a new premises and have a current Eufy ecosystem we are looking to add to and upgrade.

I currently have 4x S3 pro cameras and 1x E340 floodlight camera with a Homebase 3.

Current limitations of the Homebase are 4x Cameras in 24/7 recording and range for the cameras at the back of the house. I want to expand that with additional S3 pro cameras.

Looking at the Eufy NVR I am of the belief that the NVR can support up to 8 cameras (without an additional switch) in 24/7 recording. However I am getting conflicting information on with compatibility of these cameras with the NVR.

Can my S3 pro cams + the E340 be connected to the NVR via my HOME WiFi network?.

I do not want to add a WiFi module. Simply as follows S3 Pro/E340 > My own home Network > Eufy NVR.

So 16 cameras + 34 other compatible devices can be connected to the HB3. if you use a NVR it is only limited to the number of channels on the NVR itself.

Thank you for not reading the question I asked.

You may want to double check your facts there.

Homebase 3 will only support 4x Cameras with 24/7 recording.

The NVR will only support 4x WiFi cameras with 24/7 recording and you MUST have the WiFi module (was confirmed by Eufy Tech Support)

I’m so sorry, I mixed your threads answer with another that was similar to yours.
So connecting the s3 pro and s340 ito the s4 nvr or s4 max nvr is only possible with the wifi module and still only provides 4 simultaneous 24/7 recording cams max

you are correct the HB-3 only supports 4 cameras that support 24/7 recording but I’ve actually connected more than that. It was a little glitchy so I added additional home bases and split my E330 across them. But I can’t answer your questions without doing some research myself but a quick google search says yes but it will connect to the NVR wireless network via the module.

Hi, I’ve been searching around trying to find an answer to your question, though it doesn’t look as though it’s going to work without the Wi-Fi module.
The S3 Pro has no internal storage so it relies on the HomeBase for that and you cannot just connect it to your home’s Wi-Fi.

The E340 floodlight cam can connect to your home’s Wi-Fi, but don’t think the NVR would recognize/detect it as a device it can access, you would use it like a SoloCam, bypassing the HomeBase and it will record onto 128GB SD card 24/7 depending on the quality of video, enabling around 6 days of continuous 3K video or up to 90 days of motion events.

Then there is this confusion, NVR with Wi-Fi module.. I highlighted text?

Hmmm, it might be easier getting another HB3 as mentioned by @ele1980
Had read something about interconnecting them to improve Wi-Fi distance for cameras out of reach?

Thank you to everyone who has replied so far.

Update for anyone who had the same questions as i had above.

No, you cannot connect your cameras to the Eufy NVR via your Home WiFi you MUST purchase the WiFi Module.

You are still limited to 4x 24/7 recordings from your WiFi Cameras (may as well buy another Homebase).

As much as i love the Eufy products and the app, this is a real let down. I’ve already spent upwards of $2000 AUD on my Eufy security system, and would need to spend about the same again to expand it. The cost/value ratio is no longer viable.

Unfortunately, this has forced me to switch to a different brand of home security products. Quite a shame really.
