Eufy Security app for Android has become too heavy with each update over the past year or so. Case in point: on my android 16 phone, the app size is 650mb, and it is keeping user data of 730mb (not counting any cache). The app now takes 4-5 seconds to open. This delay renders it useless for the security moments when the user needs to access quickly. Another problem is that after opening, it takes 5 to 10 seconds ‘decrypting from local storage’ before showing any video. These delays have resulted in greatly limiting the usefulness of the overall eufy security solution. Eufy should take immediate actions to make the app loading and the video decrypting process more efficient and very fast. (I am using 300MBPS Internet so Internet speed is not the reason for delays).
Yeah, they need to shrink the app size. Mine is 694 MB with the total app size of 5.41 GB.
The problem is jamming all this coding for products that have nothing to do with security camera / devices. It was a bad move to roll it all into one app.
I don’t need the breast pump, lawn mower and vacuum cleaner and whatever else bogging down the app.
Just curious, why is your app size 5 GB? That seems a bit too large. Is there something you have on your app that I am missing or something?
My total app and data size is only 2 GB.

I’m not sure about that though. I have several cameras, video doorbell, smart locks, smart display, eufy sensors, pole light, etc… lol
My app still isn’t that large in size. Would you mind checking which app version you have installed? I think it can be found at the bottom of the left navigation bar in the app under one of the sections there. I’m thinking maybe I’m using a previous version or beta version or something. Not sure how the different versions compare in features either.
