After last update my one of 2 EufyCam 2c stopped charging from solar and few days later the other camera follows. Contacted customer support and they started by asking proof of purchase and picture of invoice. What is the best solution? Throw it and buy a different brand that respect more their customers? Solar Panels are not Eufy brand but tested with other equipment and they working fine.
The info they requested is for help & warranty purposes…
Do the cameras take a charge via a plug in USB power adapter?
Since both cameras stopped solar charging shortly after the update and you’ve already tested the solar panels with other equipment, I would try isolating the problem before replacing anything.
First, connect each EufyCam 2C directly to a known-good USB charger and confirm that both cameras still charge normally. If they do, that would help rule out the camera batteries and charging ports.
I would also check the Eufy app to make sure the power source or solar charging settings didn’t change after the update, then restart the cameras and HomeBase.
Since your solar panels are third-party, I would also test the cables and connectors with the cameras specifically, because working with another device doesn’t necessarily guarantee compatibility with the cameras.
If both cameras charge normally by USB but neither recognizes solar power after the same update, I would give Eufy Support the firmware versions and explain that the issue began immediately after the update. That could help determine whether it’s firmware-related.
I definitely wouldn’t throw the cameras away yet. ![]()
