First time set up Ethernet help

Hi all, help for an older guy who is not tech gifted, does the Ethernet cable need to remain plugged into router / Homebase 2 after initial set up adding 2 eufy pro 2 cameras? Without cable the lights on front of base are red, thanks for any help, Phil
