I’m three weeks postpartum. I need to know what section y’all have y’all‘s pumps on I don’t know if I’m running my suction too high. usually run six but my nipples have been hurting pretty bad afterwards. Should I turn it down and try to pump that way, but I feel like if I turn it down then I’m not gonna get as much out.
It’s definitely worth experimenting with turning down the suction and seeing what amount you get a few times! Nipple pain can actually decrease milk production. I had pain in the first month and the combination of reducing the suction level and finding a flange insert that was the right size helped eliminate it. I pump at a level 2 now and get the same amount. It did take a few weeks for the pain to go away and my nipples to heal though. Hope this helps!

I was always told that higher suction does not mean more milk. Even on my spectra I sometimes get way more milk on the bacon setting. On my eufys I don’t go past suction level 3 and I average 10oz per pump. Just have to find the right settings for you!
I am using it at the lowest setting and only run mine for 20 minutes on the gentle rhythm. They hurt my nipples occasionally if I don’t have them lined up well. I think the best way to get them to work most of the time is to stimulate your nipple first before you put on the pump. Then you dont run into your nipple bending during the pump. I also check at the 5 minute mark to see if I have milk production by leaning to the side and looking down the middle. If there isn’t milk, I just pause the pumps and readjust from there.
I only use suction at 3 or 4 so you may have it too high. Also experiment with different flange inserts because when I was using the wrong size I had a lot of nipple pain.
I will say at first pumping really shouldn’t be painful. I was dealing with a lot of pain but finding the correct flange insert size really helped. I also would recommend a lubricant like coconut oil (if not allergy) or one of the other sprays. Those seem to help a lot. Also make sure your nipple is correctly centered.
As far as settings, I start on stimulation level 1 for a minute, then 2, then 3 then 4 for two minutes. I found this helps my nips get more used to it. Then I use the DIY and do mixed (4 short 2 long or 6 short 2 long) at level 4 for 10-15 until milk stops then I go back to stimulation at level 4 for five minutes then back to mix. I have found when the battery is lower it is weaker so I have to go stronger suction but normally o keep at 4.
Honestly try lower settings! I thought max was going to be the best and fastest but it really isn’t!
Besides uncomfortable / high suction.. pain could be due to using an incorrect flange size. Eufy’s come with inserts. Are you using them? Measure your nipple and always pump with the correct flange size.the size can change over time too. I have found that silicone inserts rub so I use a little coconut oil to lubricate. If that doesn’t work, might be that you may have elastic nipples and the style of pump may not be the most compatible due to a shorter tunnel. Which pump are you using?
