At least yours is just ringing the doorbell. We are getting violent kicks to our door at 2:15am!! The doorbell is annoying but the kicking is scary! No idea if someone is breaking in or not. 
They need a good whoopin

Just turn the inside chime off, they’ll soon get board when there no reaction.
And get some sort of shoe rack!
