My solo cam is

My solo cam is north facing, so it doesn’t get enough sunlight to keep the internal battery topped up. Therefore, i am considering installing a mains connection. My question is: At what output is recommended for a permanent mains connection?

I’m not too sure that putting the camera on a permanent mains is a good idea, as it’s not intended to be as so.

Though if I was going to do this running a USB cable from the camera and snaking the wire into the home near an outlet connected to a 5 volt 2 amp charging adapter.
Then when you see that the camera needs charging just plug in the power adapter, when it’s done charging unplug it.

Another option ~ got this info from eufy ~

External eufy Solar Panel

eufy S220 SoloCam can be connected to an external eufy Solar Panel. However, please note that the camera will not be able to recharge its battery by using the integrated solar panel and an external eufy Solar Panel at the same time.

If it’s any help I’ve had a eufycam2 running on USB class power supply for approximately 5 months with no problem. It captures between 150 and 390 clips a day. This is a special case as this cam’s battery pack will only last about 21 days without the usb power capturing about 1 clip a day. I think the cam has a reversed cell that drains the others. So, usb works in this case and maybe yours. By the way, the normal battery life for my eufycam2 is 4 to six months with an average of 20 or so clips per day.
