Dear eufy Support and Product Development Team,
I am a long-time user of eufy’s robotic vacuums, currently using the X10 Pro Omni (as well as the E25/E28 models). While the obstacle avoidance provided by the onboard RGB cameras is excellent, I believe there is a massive opportunity to increase the utility of these devices through a software update.
I would like to formally request a Pet Live Monitoring feature that allows users to access the RGB camera feed directly through the eufy Clean app.
Why this feature is needed:
- Enhanced Utility: Currently, the high-quality RGB camera sits idle outside of cleaning cycles. Allowing it to function as a mobile pet camera would add significant value to the hardware.
- Pet Safety: As a dog owner, being able to “drive” the vacuum or check in from a low-vantage point is the best way to monitor pets under furniture or in specific rooms where stationary cameras have blind spots.
- Competitive Edge: Many competitors are already integrating “remote patrol” or “home monitoring” modes into their flagship models.
Privacy & Security Concerns:
I understand that privacy is a core pillar for eufy. This feature can be implemented while maintaining your high safety standards by:
- Local Processing: Keeping the video stream on the local network or encrypted end-to-end.
- User Authorization: Requiring a secure PIN or biometric secondary authentication to activate the camera.
- Visual Indicators: Ensuring the vacuum’s LEDs flash or provide a voice prompt (“Remote viewing active”) when the camera is being accessed.
The X10 Pro Omni is a powerhouse of a machine, and unlocking the camera for pet monitoring would make it the ultimate all-in-one home assistant.
I look forward to seeing if this can be included in a future firmware roadmap. Thank you for your time and for continuing to innovate in the smart home space.
Best regards,
