Problems with new garage cam

I recently bought and installed a garage cam plus to replace my Nexx smart wifi controller after their security incident handling last week.

Install was easy and I was up and running in under 30 minutes. Cam is on latest fw, etc. It worked fine for ten minutes or so, and then the camera just becomes unreachable in the app. I get the ‘unable to reach camera -3’ error most of the time. Wifi connection strength is excellent, and I’ve even got an indoor cam 2k in the garage that works and connects just fine. In fact, I went with Eufy as I’ve got a couple of their cameras and I figured one less app to worry about. When the camera won’t connect in the app, I can’t ping it either, so it is just losing connectivity or just freezing up internally (my hunch)

Wondering if anyone has seen this or has suggestions? I’ve done the usual - checked fw, and network logs, reinstalled the cam. Tried streaming on low. I even returned it for a replacement and the new one behaves the same way. I have a support case open with Eufy, but unless they come back with a known issue, I think I need to return it.

FWIW - I also just moved my 2.4GHz wifi channel to one that has less interference. No change, but also interesting - if I ping the cam and then try to connect to it, I see the response time go from 1 or 2ms to 900ms or more. Seems the camera is just either underpowered or locking up with the connection. Not very confidence inspiring.
