2 weeks back I got Eufy cam 3 4 camera kit with HomeBase 3. I am deeply disappointed with the camera range and the lag with which they wake up. The range of the camera is impacted by the lag in waking up thereby reducing human detection to hardly 6-7 ft and that also gets missed out in event of human walking fast.
I have tried everything that has been suggested by the technical support team at Eufy in last 8-9 days … but there is no improvment.
The camera setup fails miserably as a security system if the human detection is delayed or with significantly diminished range. In real life situation, no intruder is going to be ambling into your premises while posing for the camera to gain access to your home. If the camera takes 3-4 seconds to wake up to detect human movement, then the entire setup has completely failed.
Feels like I have paid a fortune for an expensive toy that just doesn’t deliver what it claims and promises. Eufy claims that human detection is anywhere up to 26 ft. Reality is, it’s hardly 6-7 ft and that too if person is walking at an easy pace.
Technical support has been absolutely abysmal and they seem to be trained to provide stock responses from some sort of FAQ. 9 days and counting, and all I have gotten are suggestions that I have already experimented with.
Seriously disappointed. There seems to be series of false claims by Eufy on what this setup can deliver, which it doesn’t.
The AI bionic engine often misidentifies humans … even with familiar faces.
I hope someone from Eufy keeps their eyes peeled on these community forums and takes this issue up on priority so that this expensive piece of hardware is transformed from a toy to a what it is intended to do.
