So I just upgra

So I just upgraded from homebase2 to the homebase3. How do I reconnect my doorbell to the new base?

Upgrading to Homebase 3 is a great step :+1: Usually, you’ll need to reset the doorbell and then add it again through the app so it connects with your new base. Make sure the firmware is up to date too, that often helps with smooth pairing. It’s kind of like finding a good traditional food — once you reconnect properly, the experience gets so much better!

Yes I believe the only way is to remove it from the app and add it as a new device. Make sure you have added the home base 3 1st

Thank you both! I’ll give that a try today and let you know how it goes!

Some in the past have said if you have both home base installed at the same time there is a option to transfer them without removing devices and reinstalling then others say that they haven’t seen that option or it didn’t work. I would be interested to know if you see this option as I am thinking of getting a second homebase 3 because I have to many cameras on 1 base. Please keep us updated. Good luck with everything

Install HB3 as a device on HB3 you should see a prompt to transfer cameras and devices. It may not work (for me it didn’t). But just follow any prompts.

Is the Homebase 3 worth the upgrade

:grinning:

Yes. Both bases must be connected to the same network and be able to communicate with each other.

Meh. It depends on your situation. There are certain cameras that don’t work with HB2 and require the HB3. HB3 also enables features that aren’t available on HB2 like cross camera tracking, better AI detection and the ability to insert your own hard drive for expandable storage. I’d say it was worth it for the additional features but I wouldn’t pay full price for it. Wait until you see the half price trade up offer in your Eufy app.

I currently have a home base 2. How many cameras would you say can be smoothly connected to it?

And at what point or would it be worth it upgrading to homebase 3 (can you connect more cameras to a single base 3 vs base2?)

According to Eufy they both can handle 16 cameras but recommend only 4 on home base 2 for best performance and 10 on HB 3 for best performance and reliability. I actually have 15 on HB3. that might be why I sometimes have connection issues but mostly everything works fine. I’m thinking of getting a 2nd HB3 soon but that means I will need another hard drive also.

I’ve got 15 cameras on. And they all been fine.
