Model T8222 Wireless Video Doorbell (yes that is the correct version model number-see pic). After firmware update on/about 3/6/2022 the Auto Night Vision (should be user configurable option to have Auto/Manual modes) constantly switches between the normal lens and the IR lens during the evening hours (aka night time). This device has been working flawlessly from Sept 2021 in the UNMOVED mounted location until 3/7/2022, the day after the update. This auto-switching feature of course is accompanied by the annoying click, click, click, click, click caused by the constant switching of the lens that can be heard via the app as well as the camera itself. And of course this causes the battery to drain completely before the morning hours after a full charge. I have reset both the chime device and the camera, uninstalled, reinstalled, reconfigured multiple times. As an additional side note, the device will no longer connects to Google Home. Is there a fix coming anytime soon? Can we get an option to roll back to the previous firmware version that didn’t have this issue?
I have the same battery powered video doorbell 1080p-grade (T8222) for almost a year now and received that same firmware update back in February 24 2022.
I’m not experiencing the issue with night vision clicking on and off in the evening.
Don’t know if you can go back to the old firmware to test it out if it is the issue? Unless eufy can send it out specifically to your doorbell…
Maybe it was just a fluke that it popped up at the same time? And doorbell has failed? You’re still covered under the one year limited warranty.
Is there any new light source that could be shining on the doorbell that may be causing this issue? Test the doorbell and a dark room/closet to test it out.
I don’t use Google Home.
