This is annoying, to say the least. Intensive days you just have to snooze all notifications, since the constant spam makes the system unusable, which complete removes the selling point of “warn me if strangers are here”.
Another very disappointed Eufy customer here. Just invested in a HB3, E340 and S330 and the constant spam notification from familiar faces is a joke. This issue seems to have been around for far too long with little or no response from Eufy. Unacceptable customer service. I’ll be raising this with them and won’t be accepting nil reply!
Same here. My Homebase 3 (firmware 3.5.1.8) with a connected eufycam 3C (firmware 3.2.2.6) is always sending notification even for known faces…
@CommunityTeam / @eufy-official please fix it, as one of your selling points is that the system only notifies you of unknown persons. It doesn’t make much sense for me to be recorded and notified when I’m sitting on my terrace, even though HomeBase 3 identifies me correctly as a known face.
Hello same problem here, I have to take down the cameras off my garden otherwise o get notifications every 10s with known faces. Really annoying
Any updates Eufy? This system is worthless the way it works - can as well return my Homebase3 and just use the cams in solo mode.
Lol. So I’m seeing this posted everywhere for over a year so I guess I will just return everything and not hold my breath. System seems decent but main selling point doesn’t even work
I can confirm that this feature is still not working as of 27.08.2024. They advertised this system as an intelligent AI smart platform capable of recognizing faces for family members. However, when you ignore the saved faces and only want an alert for a new face or person, it still triggers a message for the known faces, even when the message claims it has detected a familiar face. It clearly needs a fix for the homebase software or the app because the recognition is functioning in the background. Shockingly, there has been no fix since 2023! Unbelievable
"I understand how frustrating it can be when a feature doesn’t work as expected. It sounds like the ‘Ignore Notifications’ feature for known people in your Homebase 3 system isn’t functioning correctly. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you might consider:
- Update Firmware: Ensure that both your Homebase 3 and Eufycam 3 cameras have the latest firmware updates installed. Sometimes, issues like this can be resolved with a software update.
- Recheck Settings: Double-check the settings for ‘Ignore Notifications’ in your Homebase 3 app. Make sure that the option is properly configured and saved.
- Re-train Bionic Mind AI: Since the AI seems to recognize you correctly but still triggers notifications, try re-training the Bionic Mind AI feature. Sometimes retraining can help recalibrate the system.
- Reset and Reconfigure: As a last resort, you might consider resetting your Homebase 3 and reconfiguring your Eufycam 3 cameras. Make sure to back up any important settings or data before doing so.
- Contact Support: If the issue persists after trying these steps, it might be worth reaching out to Eufy’s customer support. They can provide more specific guidance and determine if the problem could be related to a potential hardware fault.
Hopefully, these steps help resolve the issue and improve your notification experience. Let me know if you have any other questions or need further assistance!"
My Homebase package is brand new, straight out of the box, with the latest firmware installed. Despite having the setting to ignore notifications for known faces turned on, I noticed that notifications for known faces were still being sent. After researching the issue, I came across multiple threads like this one, where people mention that this feature has never worked and is still not functioning, even after the latest app or firmware updates for the Homestation or the S330 cams. Therefore, the options you’re suggesting aren’t relevant in this situation. All we can do now is hope that the development team addresses this issue and releases a fix soon.
