[Let's Talk] What To Do If Your Neighbor Has Security Cameras Pointed at Your Home?

I bet if you thought someone was banging your wife or husband or what ever now a days or breaking into your home or vandalizing your property you’d be asking your neighbor for that footage to see who what and where

I don’t have that much free time to sit & review all the recorded footage from my cul-de-sac. However, the time I have spent watching the motion detected of the newest neighbors has convinced me they are either Russian spies or in a witness protection situation. Without knowing the context of what’s happening beyond the cilp I was starting to feel a little creepy, nosey & suspicious. But I’m not curious enough to give it more of my time.

Personally if my camera is viewing someone property (one of them does) I first get permission and then share that camera so they’re able to view it as well.
This has luckily avoided any conflict.

We have high-resolution footage of our neighbor tresspassing and damaging my car. His face is clearly visible. He’s shouting racial slurs while cussing my family by name. We’re white. He’s from eastern Europe.
The police told us, “That can’t be used as evidence. It could be altered.”

Just saw a man peeing near my exterior wall camera.

I had some break into my garage and I asked my neighbor for a copy of what they had because they had a better angle on what they did. If you know your neighbors there is nothing to fear. So many of us now days do not want to interact with others that we see things and they do as invading our privacy and not seeing the overlapping help that can be provided to each other as people.

Ironic… peering on neighbors is abnormal

Ring Camera Flood Light from Neighbor blinds me every time I go out to my Car. The Neighbor knows I do not like this. Thus the Neighbor has now pointed the Light so it is more in my face every time I go to my Car. I have done some research on this. Apparently, there is not much I can do. Short of hiring a lawyer and suing the Neighbor. The Laws have been written and lobbied for so companies like Ring and others can sell there products. “The Neighbor has the right to secure there property”. My individual rights and being blinded every time I go to my car mean nothing. The Ring system Is also likely recording me on Video and Audio with out my consent.

Hope my neighbors don’t feel any type of way about the 8 I have around my house and i try my best not to have them pointed at anyone except directly sround my house. I live in an area where people do alot of stealing and sneaking around and i i like to be alerted when they get to close to me and my family.

my Naighbour’s and I get on so well I currently manage there camera as well as my cameras for them to protect our homes and there selfs. We all communicate and community here is great

I have a couple of the lower end outdoor cameras and I use the on board micro SD card slot to store 24/7 video. Once it gets to capacity it goes over the old video. I would imagine if the lower end cameras do it so would the rest of them. Just a thought.

My neighbors had a camera pointed at their car, but this meant I couldn’t leave or enter my home or car without triggering the video and audio capture. They would routinely ask about things they saw on the camera, and it made living there extremely uncomfortable. When myself and other neighbors asked about it, they told us we’d have to lodge a formal complaint before they did anything about it.

You won’t have any privacy problems with the eufy s330 cameras they don’t pick up motion unless you stand within 10-15ft in front on them and that’s not an exaggeration. Recently purchased 4 eufy s330 cameras they do everything except for record my property. They would work great for a townhouse or duplex. My ring doorbell camera offers more security! Strongly recommend not getting these cameras waste of money! Thanks for nothing EUFY!…p.s. all the cameras are installed properly and tested repeatedly for motion detection and they all fail at this one major key for security cameras.

Call and notify the police . It’s illegal to point your camera’s at someone’s else’s property and that’s a fact. Also audio is illegal

Hi. I have not had any problems with any of my neighbors cameras even if they were possibly pointed at my house.
Hower, I have had so so many problems just trying to use my eufy.
I have 2 neighbors that seem to have some device or idk what it is but a light so bright shines into mine…completely blasting it where I cannot see anything. I have never had any issues with neighbors live n a nifjneighborhood n my cams a fr e nit pointed at v anyone’s home directly…only on my carlport…it’s frustrating because I am a single lady n truly want to have my security camers.but there is nothing I can do. Jive move them n they keep blocking them. Ty for reading n t h e feed to vent alittle

People definitely know we have flood lights it’s funny to watch them on cam drive by the house slowly trying to not set them off which is nice because people used to speed up and down the down our road, the presence of cameras has actually encouraged our neighbor to purchase a lil doorbell cam. I don’t think anyone feels upset if anything they are good people and know we are as well. It’s increased a sense of neighborhood as the house a block down got some installed recently too and they have even been riding their bikes before sunset, you can tell our lil neighborhood feels a lot cozier and safer. :grinning:
