1. Find the Right Nipple Insert Size
Choosing the correct insert size is essential for comfort and efficiency. Using the wrong size can cause pain, redness, and may even affect milk output, slowing down your pumping process.
But there’s no need to stress. Follow these two steps to measure your nipple size and find the perfect fit:
Step 1: Measure your nipple size after breastfeeding to get the most accurate measurement.
Step 2: Measure both sides, as the size of your left and right nipples may differ.
Additional Tips:
① Start with an insert that matches your measured size. If you measure before breastfeeding or feel discomfort, try a size that’s 1-2 mm larger.
② For elastic nipples, choose an insert that’s one size smaller.
③ Since nipple size can change during your breastfeeding journey, if you experience discomfort or a decrease in milk supply, it’s a good idea to remeasure your nipple size.
2.Assemble Your Breast Pump Properly for a Secure Seal
① Install the Duckbill Valve
This part can be tricky, so take your time to install it correctly.
② Install the Flange
This part plays a crucial role in creating a proper seal.
③ Install the Pump Hub and Diaphragm
3. Adjust the Bra for an Ideal Fit
Choose a bra with good support to help the breast pump fit comfortably and ensure the flange fits snugly on your breast. Be careful not to tighten the bra too much, as it may cause discomfort.
