I just setup a Eufy E340, and the LAG for Alexa to respond to motion and turn on the porch light after the Eufy app sends me the motion notification is at least 10 seconds. That’s totally useless for me, but I guess you get what you pay for with worthless implementation like this.
I Guess I’ll just do this myself and use Android Tasker with API calls or Samsung Modes and Routines when my device receives a doorbell motion notification from the Eufy app since that would be 9 seconds faster than Eufy’s Alexa integration.
UPDATE:
Well, I guess I wasn’t paying attention earlier when I thought I got the Eufy app notification 5-10 seconds before the porch light came on. So using the Eufy app notification to do this didn’t help since it takes TOO LONG for the Eufy app to send the notification after the doorbell lights up with motion. So it’s obviously not the Alexa integrating, it’s Eufy’s integration. Wish I could get something directly from the HomeBase on my local network. So I’ll need to rely on a different motion sensor since this Eufy system is inherently WAY TOO SLOW.
I setup my E340 connected through the Eufy HomeBase 3 and am experiencing a six’ish second LAG from the time the doorbell lights up with motion, and I finally receive the app notification on both Android and iOS.
Question, does anyone have their E340 doorbell connected to their home WiFi and not through a HomeBase experience any seconds of notification LAG like this?
With my Eufy S300 cameras that are connected to the same HomeBase 3, I receive motion notifications almost instantly on both Android and iOS apps.
Doorbell E340 is not sending any notification to Android App as well as two Alexa devices. This time notification is not delayed but not received at all. I have removed and reinstalled the Eufy app. Removed and added Doorell in the Alexa app. Anyone having this issue and found any solution?
Doorbell E340 is not sending any notification to Android App as well as two Alexa devices. Is anyone else having the same issue or any suggestion to resolve this issue?
Was there ever an official response to this?
Had this a couple of times now. Delay now is timed perfect to wake my whole house up in the middle of the night, had it around 3am and 5am on the same night, then again the following day around 4am.
Totally not acceptable and should have been resolved given it’s been known for a number of years now going off the length of this thread and others.
mine are currently terrible with up to 7 hour delays or none at all… started last Thursday with the crowdstike problems…I have reported it but had no response to my ticket other than the send us all your invoices for warranty purposes etc… on top of the two other ongoing tickets for problems with automation and alarms and alexa notfications and my S120 solar camera constantly having problems which they have faffed around with until it is out of warranty and finally decided to die at the weekend so had to strip and unplug the battery to get it to work again!
I have raised this with them again. Previously it was reported in May and they have replaced the doorbell which resolved the issue and now after a couple of months I’m in the same situation. I really love the quality of the doorbell but without notifications it is useless.
I just wanted to add my own “me too” words to this problem.
I’ve had my S330 for a couple of months and when the doorbell button is pressed the Alexa devices throughout my home bing within a second or so. Perfect.
Recently, for the past week or so, it is taking MANY HOURS before the Alexa devices announce it and, of course, there is nobody there.
The last straw was a couple of nights ago, being woken up in the middle of the night because someone was at the door (except they weren’t); just a 8 hour delay on the notification.
I’ve removed the “skill” from Alexa and re-added it - but no difference. I’ve logged a ticket with Amazon requesting a refund and will return the item because it’s completely pointless now.
I love Eufy devices (mainly the robot vacuums) and was initially very impressed with the doorbell, and still am, but a doorbell that doesn’t chime where I need it to is useless.
Anyone had any success fixing the problem? The fact that it’s technically working - ie. the notifications are coming through, just multiple hours late!!!
Like others have said, it’s a great device, and Alexa integration is still advertised on the Amazon pages, but it quite simply is completely useless without notifications.
Just want to give you an update. I have raised this issue with the Eufy support team and they ask me to send them a log file which I did using the Eufy app. Log file was sent yesterday and last night my issue was resolved. Now I’m receiving notifications on all my devices including Alexa. In the morning I received an email from Eufy support to confirm if the issue is resolved. I don’t know if they have resolved this issue for everyone or this is just for my doorbell after reviewing my log file.
Well, on a cautiously optimistic note, Alexa notifications from my 2k battery door bell still seem to be working so could it be that Eufy have finally fixed the problem?
I’m using the T8210 battery doorbell and base unit. We noticed events were no longer being alerted to our phones or Alexa after a year of working fine. Doorbell is on firmware 5.8.1.9.
The memory card in the base unit was full and we formatted this via the Eufy Security app. The base now relays doorbell activity to our phones via the app as expected.
But Alexa is unable to detect the Eufy doorbell. I have gone into Alexa and disabled/re-enabled the Eufy Security skill as suggested. In the Eufy Security app, I have enabled the “Works with > Alexa” link again.
But the doorbell device is not listed in Alexa, and therefore I can’t rely on Alexa to alert me for the doorbell. Alexa will not detect the doorbell when I ask it to add a new device.
This is a problem as I work in a garden office behind the house. The Alexa device in the garden office is louder than the ping on my phone and I have missed callers to the door as a result.
I have ensured my phone, the Alexa device and the Eufy base are all on the same home wifi network. Rebooted them all. Still, Alexa won’t see the doorbell despite both sets of software saying they can talk to each other.
Annoying as it worked fine for 12 months before. Nothing changed our side, other than the card filling up. Doorbell is 100% charged.
