Our Real-Time Translation now supports automatic language detection—just set the “Other Language” to “Auto-Detect” in the language settings, tap the mic icon below, and it’ll instantly recognize what’s being said. No need to guess the language—translation works like a charm anyway!
(Currently, Auto-Detect supports these 8 languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Korean, Spanish, Italian)
I love this translation feature.. but it can’t quite keep up with the dialogue from the Korean programs I watch every day; granted, the Korean language is spoken at lightning speed, so maybe my expectations are too high, but the translation takes a second to decipher the first sentence and meanwhile the talking has progressed, so I miss the bulk of what’s being said… but other than that, it’s amazing to me that a translation feature is available at ALL

We’re continuously working on reducing latency and improving how the system handles rapid speech and complex dialogue, especially for languages like Korean. Even so, we agree with you — it’s pretty amazing that real-time translation is even possible today, and we’re excited to keep pushing it further.
