Greetings,
I just recently bought several cameras, homebase, sensors and a doorbell. I’m generally happy, except for the fact that there is no integration to Smartthings, but that was expected and accepted from my side.
But, there is one thing I just can’t accept, something I thought of as a non-brainer so didn’t even care to check before making a purchase … and that is possibility for battery doorbell scheduled muting of existing doorbell chime. I mean like wtf, how is this not a thing???
It’s a very basic software implementation that should have been implemented ages ago … sorry, but you just can’t claim a title of “Smart” Security system without one such a basic function. On contrary, it makes it quite dumb!
So there is an option for muting the existing chime, but no possibility to schedule it, which is just an utter nonsense. From a practical point of view, IT MATTERS! Especially for us with small kids that are frequently visited by random sellers and like assholes that can’t read a sign: please don’t ring the bell after 8PM.
I can see that this request/wish/inquiry was laid out on several ocassions in the last few years but obviously nothing was done in that regard. Not even a feedback from Eufy which makes me wonder: Do they even give a flying f??? I guess not … and that makes me mad, in fact I will gladly consider returning the whole 1000$+ package for a full refund.
I don’t expect it to integrate/align with Android’s “Do Not Disturb” mode, but it is more than reasonable to expect it to have such a basic feature …
Sure, I can allways “invent some wizardry” like adding the smart switch in line with doorbell/chime and schedule it … or whatever … but that’s not the point!
To all of you that faces such issue, did you find some clever workaround? Any help/feedback from Eufy? Or did you just gave up or even switch it with some more user friendly product?
