Put it up high. People tend not to look up.

Inside the door

Inside the door…like the peep hole?

And that why they can’t removed them or cover them with something. Not not too high that you can’t get a good angle at their faces.

In a tree with a black camera skin, if available for your camera.

Yes, if you have one.

Inside the pantry. It might stop little hands & bigger hands to stop saying “I never took it” or “it wasn’t me going into the pantry in the early hours of the night”I have a husband that swears blind that he never ate that last packet of chips and kids that swear blind they never took the last of the cookies or candy.
A camera in the pantry just might resolve all the sneaky ones lol! :joy:

I can’t really tell how big it is. I didn’t realize they sold very small cameras. I’m guessing it’s battery operated. But where is the eye of the camera?

I did this little project during covid … initially I used a wyze cam but then I replaced it with a eufy 1080p cam. The way it was supposed to work was j planned on attaching an old phone to either the wall or the back of the door and use the Tasker app to turn the phone screen on whenever someone entered the hallway arear… pics to follow

I forgot to mention, the reason for removing the housing from the cam was to shrink the size of the install ie to make the camera fit.
Even with the wyze cam I had to increase the size of the peephole that was already in the door, this is a look at the peephole from inside my apartment with the housing over it

Some of these pics will be from the original install because I can’t find the folder I have placed them in. (Can’t access it right now)

do you not feel ok to just puts video door bell at door?..… or I’m assuming that’s a dumb question lol otherwise you’d have done that lol

:grinning:

That’s pretty impressive…, I’d never have noticed or thought of that kind

Like I said, I did this during covid, so it was more or less to keep my sanity and I was also experimenting with changing the lenses on the cams to see if there would be any improvement to either the wyze or eufy cams… I planned to r post a side by side comparison of the 2 brands ( that’s why I own 1 1080p eufy cam all the others are 2k…
But to answer your question , I thought about just placing the cam on the outside of the door or just buying a door bell cam , what what’s to stop someone from ripping it off the door ? So to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, I increased the size of the hole that was already there and if it didn’t work out, it was only costing me a couple bucks… I have thought about getting a doorbell cam though (but only to remove it from the housing and place it in the hole  )

See how the heat of the lens left its impression

And this is the peephole housing placed back on the door, to the right is the cord going to the cam…it’s a 25 foot cord I think… I bought it on Amazon
