Camera wifi connection to homebase

My home network has very good wifi coverage thanks to a number of wifi access points throughout my home, but it seems that my individual battery cameras (eufycam 2c) are only connecting directly to the home base over wifi, meaning that some of them have a pretty weak signal. Is there any way to get them to connect to their nearest wifi access point instead?

I think not. You could consider adding an additional homebase 3

In that case I’d probably be better off just putting my homebase in a different room. My home is pretty small.

Yes good idea. That is what I did, I have it on the ground floor (American first floor) at the ground level

I have 10 cameras 9 cameras 6 outside and 3 inside all connecting to this homebase three.

I have home base very

Those cameras are not “solo” cams, so must be connected to the HB. However, you could try connecting your HB to your access point, or even moving it and connecting it to the access pt by Ethernet cable…

With routers your get a better signal when they are up high and unimpeded. You might want to try placing it on top of the dresser(?) For better signal…

I’m aware that they need to be connected to the home base over the network, but I would have thought that it could connect over my existing wifi network to talk to the homebase over my existing wifi, rather than the homebase needing to provide its own wifi network.

Currently I have my homebase connected to my network via ethernet, but it’s configured with my wifi network, and I would have thought that the Eufy cams would just be connecting to whichever access point they’re configured for with the matching SSID.

I was having similar issues but I decided to updagrade my wi-fi mesh system with eero pro6 I think it was but I was able to utilize the other mesh pods one or 2 to ensure downstairs was the basement was covered to make sure the hub and everything was covered. But if u put too many pods throughout the home the speed will slow. You have to make sure you have everything just right

Noice

My network is a wired ethernet backhaul with a bunch of access points all with the same SSID/password setup. I only have three cameras, and one of them is right next to one of my access points, but that one has a fairly weak signal, which tells me that it’s only trying to communicate directly with the homebase, and mesh wifi would make no difference if that’s the case.

I agree, but as all of cameras are low down the HB3 on the floor works perfectly and it is more discreet ; I have a waste paper basket normally in front of it so you can’t see it at all. My wifi router is on top of that cabinet as I need wifi upstairs.
