Check your transformer

After working for three years, our eufy video seemed to give up the ghost. Tried everything possible after Googling and turned to Eufy customer support. No solution from Eufy. As a last resort, I checked the transformer and it seemed “fried.” Ordered a more powerful one and it was the solution - everything now working. So when all else fails, you may wish to check and replace your transformer as Eufy systems require a higher amperage.

What’s the model of your doorbell ?

It’s the 2K model T8100.

What was the amps / VA on the old transformer?
You’ll burn out your transformer, it will take a bit of time to happen… If the power requirements are more than the transformer can supply, as it’s putting stress on the transformer.

The old one was from a 2009 house build and you’re correct - over time the camera fried the transformer. I was unaware of this when the video doorbell was installed in 2021 as the installation app reported the old boor bell system was compatible.
