Help improve eufy AI! Donate Videos of Thieves, Earn $2 Each!
Campaign Duration: 12/18/2024 - 01/25/2025
We are asking for submissions of attempted or successful package thieves and people attempting to open car doors. Users can submit and earn cash for both events simultaneously!
Activity 1: Package Theft Events Donation
- Priority is given to videos of real and attempted package theft events.
- The same device needs to donate 10 events to be considered as having completed participation. If the number of real events is less than 10, the remaining number can be supplemented by acting as a thief stealing your own packages. Please be sure those around you know you are not a real thief!
- Multiple cameras and doorbell devices can participate in the same activity. The same event recorded on different devices can be treated as different submissions.
Activity 2: Attempted Car Door Opening Events Donation
- Priority is given to donating real events where someone has attempted to open your car door.
- The same device needs to donate 10 events to be considered as having completed participation. If the number of real events is less than 10, the remaining number can be supplemented by acting as a thief attempting to open your car doors.
- Multiple cameras and doorbell devices can participate in the same activity. The same event recorded on different devices can be treated as different submissions.
How to view the event post again

Why are we launching this campaign? Why is acting necessary?
To help raise awareness and enhance the AI’s ability to identify and warn you about package and car thieves, eufy is collecting data to better help improve the algorithm your devices use! While real events provide the best support, these videos can be in limited quantity. We are also looking for any videos of these acts being simulated to show the AI what to be on the look out for.
Sign up: If you have already completed the donation, please comment “Participated” under this post. Then eufy staff will contact you to follow-up on next steps. Please keep an eye your community mailbox.
Steps for Donating Events
- Using your camera to record, capture videos of thieves or act out the events yourself. Note: After each attempt, please check that an event has been generated.
- Enter the Security APP, click the three horizontal lines or your name icon in the upper left corner; in the pop-up sidebar, click Enhance My AI.
- Next to Theft, click Donate to enter the event selection interface.
- Click on all events that meet the donation requirements, then click Donate. Then be sure to wait for the upload to complete.
- Wait for the review to be successful.
Requirements for Acting Out Package Theft
- Before acting out the event, the video must clearly show the package.
- The event should be in color, not in infrared black and white mode.
- Each acted event should be different. You can directly imitate the reference video or make changes in elements such as the theft path, whether the face is covered, the package location, etc.

Requirements for Acting Out Car Door Pulling
- The event should be in color, not in infrared (black and white) mode.
- Each acted event should be different. You can directly imitate the reference video or make changes in elements such as the vehicle’s direction, whether the car door was successfully opened and theft was carried out, pulling the front/rear door or the door on the other side, etc.

Each participant will receive $2 for each approved event. However, for each activity, a maximum of $20 can be earned per device.
For example: If you have 5 devices, and each of them completes 2 activities, then your total reward will be $200.

If Enhance My AI does not recognize Thief Events, how else can you donate?
- In the Events interface, click on a single event, then click Donate at the bottom.
- In the Donation interface, select “other” for the issue type, and comment in the comment box whether it is a Package Thief or Car Door Pulling.
- Click Confirm to donate.
Note: This method only allows you to donate one event at a time, not in bulk.
You can continue to donate, and we will publish the data once a week.
