My Batttery Doorbell 2K is wired with 12V. In settings I can also see green plug.
Now it reports Battery empty and turns OFF! Malfunction??
Mine has done the same thing. All signs say it is plugged in and it shuts down once a week due to battery requiring charging. I then need to disconnect from wiring and bring it into the house to charge it. Wondering why I bother. Surely someone else sells a more reliable unit.
AFAIK, the Battery doorbell still runs on battery power, even when hardwired. Hardwiring basically acts as a trickle charger (as opposed to supplying power for the whole unit). So first check your settings to make sure it’s not triggering too often or recording too long. Also, I think charging stops if temps outside get too cold.
Alternatively, it could be that your transformer doesn’t supply enough power to charge it faster than power is being used.
Hoe much power should it be ?
I believe eufy suggests 16 to 24 volts 30 VA
Icon used to indicate hardwired charge and charge was never below 80%. Since most recent update, no longer shows charge and battery is at 60%. Hardwired with up to 24v transformer by electrician and confirmed power at doorbell site.
