My camera seems to miss recording or notifying quite a bit of delivery drivers when they pick up or drop off packages. Today I had a FedEx driver pick up a very big and heavy box from the front of our porch, where you had to walk up the driveway and get in our porch and lift the box and walk out, and it was supposed to be captured by both doorbell and porch camera. Checking at my video, none of the actions got ever recorded on! But it recorded actions of me putting the box out, and me going out on a walk afterwards the pick up. When the movement happens faster does it miss the movement? It’s set on the highest sensitivity and for human detection.
Today I myself came back from a walk with my baby in a stroller, lifted the stroller up on the steps to my porch and sat on my porch chair for a bit. I didn’t hear my phone giving notifications, so I pulled my phone out to see heat none of my actions triggered notification or a recording.
I’m drawing a major conclusion here based on these:
***Human detection mode seems to miss the movements when the human head, or partial body is possibly out of the perimeter setting, even though there are plenty of movements.
The doorbell camera, and the other porch camera only records when there’s full human body is in view.
Of course the solution seems to be to put the setting on detect “all motions”, but then it notifies constantly of passing cars on the street or flies and trees moving due to wind.
I set my activity zone, custom set the delay to retrigger to 2 seconds, and don’t use human mode. Works great for me. Remember shadows or moving leaves will trigger your unit so set the activity zones according to your scene as needed.
