So, I bought the Eufy 2K. Great picture, I love that it tilts, pans, and what not. First of all does the 2 way audio not work, I can only hear, but not speak through it. I hold the button, I talk, let go, nothing.
And second of all what is the point of this camera if you can’t make it understand that you/others are home? My phone is being spammed with messages. They had the facial recognition in gen 1 homebase, but then removed it from all future stuff, or at least from this one and homebase 2 or whatever.
Why? I even deactivated motion detection and it will still sometimes pop up, telling me there is movement. What is the actual point of this camera if it’s just annoying? Am I missing configurations? PLEASE tell me. Also, homekit integration doesn’t work a lick. It can never be connected to for whatever reason, even though it’s running.
It sounds like the camera is doing it’s job correctly if it’s alerting you to motion. No…. The camera can’t tell that it’s “you” and turning off motion tracking only stops the camera from “tracking” you around the room. Just shut it off when you come home. Sounds like you bought the wrong camera.
I’m guessing Eufy stopped using the “familiar faces” thing because it just didn’t work well.
If I keep turning it off and on again, which is just ridiculous, then it’s doing its job, yeah. Besides that it shouldn’t alert me to motion alarms when I turned it off. So we’re actually far from “doing its job”. What a shame. Guess I’ll save up for something more reliable. Also, very fun to advertise “Smart facial recognition” on their website. Not what I’m used to by Anker.
You turn the camera off and it’s still alerting you? One of two things here…. You don’t know how to turn off your camera…. Or… you have the weirdest, creepiest bug I have ever heard of.
Also…. All cameras have a schedule mode. You can set that up to auto turn off/on on your schedule. ALL my cams are on a schedule…. Couldn’t take it if they were not.
