Eufy Cam 2 Pro - 2 installed outside and both have stopped detecting motion - Any tips to get them going again

I’ve just recently picked up two EufyCam 2 Pros to watch the outside of my house. Both have a full strength connection to the homebase 2, are mounted with clear line of site to two particular areas with nothing blocking or able to reflect at night right beside them.

Both, upon initial installation where detecting movement perfectly fine day or night but this past two weeks they’ve slowly stopped. Initially it stopped picking me up when I was riding my bike out of the property on my way to work but would still pick up the car if it was leaving… but in the past week it hasn’t picked up couriers or my kids playing around… now I wouldn’t say its completely stopped as one of them picked up my daughter as she was playing with our cat but 10 minutes later it didn’t pick me up coming home.

I’ve just been outside and using the motion detection setting to set the sensitivity but from close to far away on all sensitivity settings, the cameras will not turn on the red light to show its picking me up.

I’ve played with hte sensitivity settings and turned the camera on/off but not yet done a reset. Before I do the reset is there anything I can do to solve this or do the cameras have problems that will just keep coming back?

It is quite odd that both cameras are having similar issues?
See if you have the option to do a Restart Devicein the cameras settings if available.

Yep it is odd. My 2C pro’s are working fine inside the house just these two are struggling for some reason… I’ll have a look at restart device and see if its available.

Have you tried restarting your Homebase? I have a smart plug that is scheduled to restart my Homebase daily. I had multiple issues with my camera’s but since restarting my Homebase’s daily this has helped me.

For some strange reason all my 2C cameras actual perform much better than all my 2 Pro camera’s. Motion detection, motion detection range, notifications is much better on my 2C camera’s, besides picture quality the 2 Pro cameras are much better. I have noticed every firmware update seems to make motion detection, notifications much worse, but after a week or two they seem to go back to normal!

Yeah did that last night in the end, haven’t tested the cameras yet as its raining outside but will do soon… if required I’ll drop them from the homebase and resync them and see if they revert to how they where operating.

Sooooo… it turns out it was ‘user error’. My partner was using the app to disarm the security system (we’ve got the keypad, door sensors etc.) and in the process instead of using the off function she was using disarm… This completely disables everything including the outdoor cameras.

As there are no automations for them to detect motion and record, the disarm function was the culprit. Setting the system to ‘off’ allowed my camera settings to work and now they’re both detecting again…
