Ok…. Well, unfortunately the best spot isn’t an option.
Correct! This the neighbor, so I need to be creative
I believe what I marked purple might be best place. If I can do it right above white cassette of sode window. I can also mount a solar panel there (flat)
Definitely where I would start. With the lower window . Looking down from the top purple window would make human only detection difficult for the camera AI. Both of the purple options look into the street. Even if you set to human only… and use privacy zones to block it… and activity zones (that don’t really work). You cams PIR will still wake the camera out of hibernation to have a look. Kills the battery. That’s why I asked if this is an active/busy street.
How did you waterproofed motion sensors, because this sounds like a good option. I can put a camera here, out of sight and out of reach + protected against heavy weather conditions.
I do need a motion trigger beginning of the driveway, maybe here:
The motion sensor would go crazy from the street. That would be a good option for the camera looking backwards toward the garage. But that would require you to use your garage as a garage and only have one car out front.
Got it and makes sense.
So what’s left is see to mount camera just above it, with right angle to capture the whole car and optionally put a solar panel flat to charge
Also if the motion sensor is pointed at the car?
Thanks a lot for thinking with me here, appreciate it!
from that location on the corner of the house… it would be tough to cover the car without detecting the street. I would try it…. Great thing about the stand alone motion sensor is you can mount them anyway you want and not have to worry about what the camera is looking at. Bummer they can’t see thru glass or you could just put it inside the car!!! That would be cool. I was looking at that little tree out front… but you would only get the one side covered…. And I bet they broke in the other side. Here is one of my waterproof jobs. It was free
Agree this would be the wrong side of the car from the tree.
You did a great (and easy) job on making it waterproof.
Thanks for playing! That’s a tough spot to cover with very few options. Bummer your neighbor isn’t cool. That would be a great spot. Let us know how the testing goes. Remember you have options for cams that record 24/7 from Eufy…. And a good car alarm never hurts. Mine goes off if they so much as touch my car. They will usually test to see if you left the car open before breaking in by pulling the door opener. Find an alarm that goes off when the handle is pulled. Have fun!
I think I will start trying this first (black is camera) pointing on the car and optionally a solar panel (yellow)
Definitely worth a test. Those sensors are cheap and they come with batteries. With the difficult location you have…. You have so many more options available. Sad eufy doesn’t make a waterproof version. Mine have been outside for a year now. At first they got wet inside when I tried to seal them perfectly…. Now they all have air tubes underneath so they can breath…. That was the trick.
Creative well not sure what other options are now. More than happy to think about an automation which triggers camera longer distance, but what are best options for trigger?
This picture is confusing…. Is this your neighbors ?
Yes it is? Sorry for confusion, but we have exact same construction, but mirrored
Will be interesting to see how much of the car you can cover at that close distance… and how it triggers for you. Make sure you set to all motion when you start testing.
