Hi all,
I have had a Eufy Doorbell working without issues for over a year. The last few days I noticed I have had no alerts, when I looked the Homebase 2 had a red light on it. I tried turning it off and on and it won’t connect to my WiFi. There have been no changes to my home WiFi setup at all. The only change I can see if Eufy had an update
I have since removed and re-added the device about 19 times and it will not connect to my WiFi, or rather it will connect and then fails at the test. Here are the steps I take:
Plugin the Ethernet cable and then the power
Add a new device in the app
Select Homebase 2
Once the light finishes flashing red and goes out (never goes blue) Hit next a few times in the app
I scan the QR code on the base of the Homebase 2
Press the little button on the back and get the beep and the Homebase 2 connects
Now I go in to settings and select connection
It sees my WiFi network and I put in my password
It tells me it’s connected
It then tells me in the app the unplug the power and then ethernet from the Homebase 2
Then it tells me to power it back on and wait for the red light to stop flashing
My Homebase 2 flashes red then goes solid red and just stays like that every time.
I have repeated these steps a number of times and it always stays red on the last part. My house setup is as follows
Netgear Orbi RBR50 with 1 satellite. The Satellite is directly above the Eufy Homebase 2. I have also got an old BT HomeHub 2 that is on my network as an access point and the Homebase even fails to connect to that WiFi as well with the same result of just a solid red light.
has anyone got this stupid bloody doorbell working on WiFi. I would expect from a company like Eufy and the price they charge for this thing to do the simple job of connecting to WiFi without any problems! I am about to throw this whole thing in the bin and go to Ring as much as I hate it but at least that thing works!
