Eufy Homebase 3 - jamming router 2.4ghz wifi - solution

Hi thought I will post this solution as I know there will be other people out there with the same issue. The Homebase 3 have a very strong 2.4ghz wifi radio and this is the same channel frequency of your home router. This has jammed my 2.4ghz wifi at home and was causing interference.
Solution:
The solution was to get a cheap 2.4ghz router and plug that into the existing router. Enable the 2.4ghz radio on the router with a different ssid and set that to a non overlapping channel 1,6,11. The channel you choose here should be different to the main router’s wifi. If your main wifi is on channel 1 , then set the router for the eufy to channel 6. If you do not know what channel your main router and eufy homebase is using then you can download an app like " wifi analyzer" to check the channel. Eufy homebase will show as “hidden network” but it will indicate the channel.
So the summary is ,

  1. do not let Eufy Homebase connect to your main router
  2. Setup a cheap 2.4ghz router plugged into your main router with a different ssid and ensure it is locked to a different channel. Do not use any of the routers set to “auto” channel selection.
  3. Hard wiring the bachaul of your Homebase 3 into your main router also does not stop the interference.
  4. As describe above is the only way to stop inteference.

Hope that helps someone.
