Eufy removing 5 minutes timeouts on web portal and adding possibility to view and record all cameras at the same time...

Wait, WHAT!!! OMG, it was just a dream…

What is it with web portal with the ridiculous 5 minutes timeout?
I work from home and need to be able to monitor cameras on a second PC monitor in real time. You can set the Web Portal Access in the app for live view for up to 24H, yet you have to reactivate the Play button on the web portal every 5 minutes as the stream disconnect every 5 minutes. The Web Portal should stream continuously for whatever you have set the pin duration for the Web Live View Valid Time in the app.

This Web Portal is basically useless EUFY, please produce a proper PC software that allow us to be able to view ALL cameras at the same time and add a record button on each camera screen so it can actually be used as a security system…

I imagine that this is a conscious design decision so as to not drain battery cameras too rapidly. If you need a constant feed to the camera, could you work around the issue by linking to a smart home such as Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home etc and viewing through their portal?

I have my cameras in HomeKit and am able to view my cameras without issue through the Home app on my Mac.

Yup for battery cameras that is to save battery life. If you want better get the E330 powered cameras and you can view 24/7 without any problems as long as you have a good WiFi signal. I use wifi extender and have no issues

Hi, I have 3 cameras, 2 x are eufyCam S330 4K Camera with Solar Panel
and one eufy Security Floodlight Cam E221, 2K that is powered via 120V AC.
I understand that monitoring the battery-powered cameras via the web portal would drain the battery faster, but why can’t I monitor the Security Floodlight Cam E221 constantly without having to re-click on the Play button every 5 minutes because of the timeouts?

Are you saying that if I only had the Security Floodlight Cam E221, that I would be able to monitor that camera on web portal without having to reconnect every 5 minutes?

Sorry I’m not sure I don’t have the flood camera and don’t use the portal. I think it is only battery only cameras that have the time out anything that is electric powered should not have a time out. I’ll try one of my battery camera most of mine are powered by electric

Just tried on one of my C210 battery powered cameras it didn’t time out and stop live view but did come up with a warning and asked if I wanted to continue. Again not through the portal and not the same camera. I think they all have different settings

This timeout doesn’t happen when using phone app, you will get the warning, but if you tell the app to continue streaming, it will.
But when using the web portal, you get the timeout regardless if you use cordless our hard wired camera.
Its very frustrating as the web portal is basically useless for a user wanting to monitor cameras in real-time on a PC monitor.

I have become sick and tired of this myself, it’s gone on for too many years. And now it’s the worst it’s ever been.
My Wyze Web Live portal always works. I have begun slowly replacing Eufy cameras with Wyze products.
This problem will soon be solved by switching to Wyze products.

I honestly wouldn’t play around with the live stream too often. I’m certain that this is what caused me not to capture the thief stealing our dashcam, I just got him walking away from the car on a different camera. The live stream is delayed and on the app, when you continue it takes about a minute or so for it to do its thing, and it doesn’t capture anything. So whatever you miss out on in all the times you tap continue, you’ll never have any evidence of.

My stream with E330 cameras times out at around 30 seconds rendering the web portal a complete waste of time. Not only that but RTSP isn’t supported either. Wish I had realised this before buying!

Well I got Eufy Indoor Cam E220, and it doesn’t have a battery but still timing out on web portal every after 5 minutes. I tried different browser, private/incognito, refreshed DNS, restarted camera and modem, yet still the same lousy web portal and time outs. Even on Google Home it’s timing out. Only able to view unlimited live stream on Android phone app. I called Eufy/Anker customer and technical support hotline, but they just keep on running around in circles asking different unecessary questions about phone, app, camera logs. It’s as if they are not aware of the 5-minute limitatio on viewing the live stream. They offered a replacement, but local supplier denied as they tested the same issue on other Eufy cameras. Got back with their tech support and just refunded me the amount/price of the camera. This has been an issue for years, but their engineering/product team hasn’t been able to fix this (or they don’t plan on fixing it at all). Just wasted hours and hours of getting in touch with them via email and calls either UK and US hotlines. Useless piece of crap.
