I have issues with the eufycam2 pro in combination with homekit recording and hope someone in here can help me solve this.
My setup:
Homebase2, connected to 1 eufycam 2 pro, connection in Eufy app shows ‘excellent’.
The problem:
In the Eufy app, recording is set to customised (also had it set to optimal surveillance, didn’t make a difference) and when motion is detected, the Eufy app actually records the video without a problem.
However, in Homekit it’s a totally different situation. Recording is set to ‘stream and allow recording’ and record ‘any motion’ (also tried ‘a specific motion’, no difference). I have no activity zone selected.
If motion occurs, Homekit most of the time starts a recording, but it abruptly stops after a few seconds, while motion is still going on. Eufy app does record the full video while motion is going on. Also sometimes Eufy detects motion where homekit doesn’t.
Already tried:
As you can read above, I tried a few different settings. Also did a complete reset of the Eufy system (homebase and eufycam) and removed my home hub (HomePod mini) from homekit. All without solving the problem.
Found something about a specific homekit firmware to solve the problem on another forum, contacted Eufy support but they don’t know anything about this.
Moved the homebase even closer to the eufycam to see if it’s a connection thing (despite the app showing excellent connectivity to eufycam), but also that didn’t work.
Is there anyone who knows how to solve this? Because like this these cameras are quite useless in combination with homekit.
