Faulty E340 Doorbell

I have a spare E340 video doorbell which went corrupt for some weird reason and I was wondering if anyone knows of any steps to maybe get it to pair once again?

The doorbell went offline and the button LED flashes twice quickly then a third flash is a little bit longer followed by another quick flash so 4 flashes in total and then a long pause followed by the repeat pattern. I’ve removed the battery and put it back in which did nothing. I’ve pushed and held the sync button for ages but this does nothing. I’ve pushed the button on the front and the sync button for ages which also did nothing. and I’ve also pushed and held the front button for ages which also does nothing. I would like to be able to get it to sync with my HB 3 so I can update the firmware to a stable one but thus far I’ve not been able to get it to beep to sync.

Don’t know if it’ll work, but maybe try shutting it OFF.
Try it with the USB-C cable charging the battery and then also without it.

Hi, jd164,

Thank you for the reply it is much appreciated. I have just given those steps a go but sadly nothing changed. The LEDs flashed a couple of times and went off so I thought maybe it was working but then the same pattern of flash flash longer flash then flash happened again so sadly not achieved anything new.

Hi, Hamishmcbuddy,

There has to be a way to reset it . Some special sauce eufy is not telling us lol.

Some thoughts come to mind…

  1. There may be a small capacity capacitor type battery in the doorbell that keeps your settings/memory intact while swapping out batteries. So try holding the sync button down without the battery pack installed for 15 seconds to drain it. Then put the battery pack back in and try sync.

  2. Or remove the battery pack for a few days then install it back and see if any sync procedures work.

  3. Hold the sync button down while installing the battery pack then release the sync button.

  4. Hold the sync button down while removing the battery pack, release sync button and install battery pack.

Hi jd164,

Thank you for the reply it is much appreciated. I had left the battery out for at least a couple of weeks but sadly this made no difference. I have also now followed the steps you mentioned but again nothing seems to work. I’ve emailed Eufy to see what they say but so far haven’t been helpful. It just seems t be bricked and unable to function at all.

Shucks, sorry to hear that.
Well if support does reply back again with help I would like to read what they have to say…
