I got the latest Eufy 2k battery doorbell as a gift for my new home with Homebase 2 recently. I have installed it two days back. Both are in latest firmware and I noticed that the battery is draining out completely in less than 24 hrs with 1 detection, 1 live view and 2 doorbell videos.
Yesterday I charged again in the evening and turned off all motion detector including LED. Today the battery is down to 8% from 100% in just 16 hours with no recording or detection logged.
The item was brand new and I opened the package to install this week only.
The Homebase is ethernet connected and doorbell is hardly 8 meters away with very good wifi signal.
Contacted the Eufy support and the rep confirmed that there is a serious battery problem after looking into the power manager settings. But since I dont have the receipt, could not get it replaced as per the rep.
I was very happy with Eufy indoor camera which I installed for home monitoring.
My queries are two:
- Since Eufy can easily check with serial number regarding the date of activation, why cannot they honour warranty and replacement like Apple, Costco etc.?
- Why Eufy cannot do a proper quality control before shipping out?

Not totally agreeing that. Im quite happy with Eufy pan-tilt indoor camera and it has one of the fastest response and perfect human detection in place as I compared many brands.

Sorry - I was reffering to external security cameras
Got it - Im using the pan-tilt indoor cam for outdoor monitoring and working perfectly. The only downside is it doesnt work with a homebase to store clips.

@ajithpl I’m sorry to say, but Eufy’s 2K Doorbell cam is horrible when it comes to battery life. I have two units and both are equally as bad. I usually get 7-10 days before I have to recharge them.
IMO they are the worst item Eufy offers in their security cam line-up. If I put the sensitivity too low, anyone can walk by without triggering it…too high, it captures everything. I finally found the right amount, but it still drains the battery in a week.

At least you got 7 days on battery; but mine is lasting only 20 hours. I thought of hardwiring but then realized that it essentially works on battery and charging comes in once it goes down below 20%. That means the battery will be charged everyday in my case and its only a matter of time the battery will eventually die. Planning to sell the Homebase 2 and throw the doorbell to trash.

Hi, I am a very new owner of a Eufy Doorbell 2k battery model, which came with a Homebase 2.
I only installed it yesterday, so came here just to look for tips, but if my unit is the same as yours, the battery drain on mine, keeping in mind I did mess with it yesterday, is onlt 1% today.
It did all update itself yesterday.
Not sure if yours is the same, so if it is, then it does appear to be faulty. I live in the UK, and you do have the consumer act here, and the serial number and other marks on it should give a clue to when it was manufactured, which should help in seeking a replacement.
Perhaps you have a similair consumer protection where you are, it may be worth trying. It is an expensive item to throw away, it may well be just a faulty battery, anyway the best of luck with it.
