Feature Request: Power-Outage Detection + App Notifications (Critical Security Gap)

Hey Eufy Community,

I want to bring back an important request that’s come up before but really needs attention again: Eufy devices should notify us when they lose power.

Right now, if your camera, base station, or doorbell goes offline due to a power outage, you don’t know it until you check the app later. That’s a major security blind spot. Power loss is exactly when you’d want to know something is wrong — whether it’s a neighborhood outage or someone intentionally cutting power to disable your system.

What we’re asking for:

  • Push notification in the app when a device loses power or goes offline.
  • A configurable threshold (immediate vs. a few minutes, so it doesn’t spam).
  • Timeline/history entry showing when the outage started and ended.
  • Battery fallback reporting where devices support it.

This isn’t a “nice to have.” It’s a critical feature for any serious security system. Without it, we’re left vulnerable in the very situations these devices are meant to protect us from.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: If you agree, please comment below to show your support (share your stories too if you’ve had devices go offline without knowing). The more people speak up, the harder it is for Eufy to ignore this request.

Let’s keep this thread alive and push for an official response + roadmap update from Eufy.

Call to action:
Drop a quick comment like:
“I support this — [Your Name or Username], [Device(s) you own].”
or
“Had this happen to me: [brief experience].”

The goal is to make this impossible to miss.

I have a soloCam S340 floodlight and Cam S320 but they all seem to go off camera and disconnect from WiFi

Well, I agree about getting a push notification and or text message when a camera goes offline or loses power instead of opening the app and finding out then.

As for the others the HomeBase and devices would need a major revamp.
A power loss to your home would mean your Wi-Fi is also down so communications is lost, I suppose the app could have some type of check-in every 30 minutes or so to acknowledge that if it can’t communicate with the HomeBase or cameras a notification would be sent. Though that would probably eat up data.

The HB could be equipped with a battery backup and when it switches to it it notifies you of a power outage.
Though you would need to have your router / Wi-Fi on a battery backup so it can still communicate, but if the fiber cable is cut it’s not going to happen, unless the HB has the ability to switch to Cellular in the event when Wi-Fi is interrupted.
The cameras I have are hooked up to battery backups, so they’ll still record if I have a power loss, but I won’t get notifications of movement if there’s a internet down situation.

Not saying that it can’t be done, just not a simple task to implement this.

I support this fully. I have plenty of technology at home but very few things are as tightly integrated with my phone as my home security system. Meaning, Eufy is uniquely and solely qualified to be the one to notify me that one of my 3 home bases have gone offline for longer than 5 minutes.

A good example scenario is when my parents lose power, I need to know sooner than they will notify me because my mother is on a powered forced air breathing machine. Without power, it will last only a few minutes before she needs to move to emergency oxygen. Knowing when power is out can be a matter of life safety for taking care of my mom.

A second example is my Eufy HB3 at our vacation house. It is three hours away so we never are there. If someone or something happens to take out the power for an extended period of time, that could result in home interior disasters or theft. I only know that power is out if I happen to be checking the app and the home base is offline.

I’d like to be able to set the amount of minutes before notification of power loss , and to get a notification when power is restored again. I realize that from your perspective, a power loss may look identical to a loss of Internet connectivity. It is okay if that incidentally causes the same alert when online connectivity is lost for an extended period.

I think it would be fair to limit this capability to only those users with a home base (since it maintains a near continuous connection).

Same here. Would like to get notified about offline home base (and come up with battery back up, like my abode camera)
