I contacted the German Eufy support because of the missing doorbell–hombase3 funtionality and I got a friendly postive comity including a send back extension … I will wait …
The app got updated again and so has the firmware for the indoor camera (2k and pan/tilt 2k) for me.
I’m on an iPhone.
My app is at 4.6.2
Indoor T8410 is at 2.1.8.3
After the updates, a new section appears above Motion Detection that says Edge Connection. I go there to set up the camera. I can select a Homebase 3 for it to use BUT at the selection for Events Only vs. Continuous and Events recording, nothing happens when I hit next no matter which one I choose. I can back out and when I go back in, it shows that the camera is supposed to be connected to the Homebase I selected HOWEVER, it shows that it is recording Events Only and if I try to change this, I get an error banner at the top of the screen saying “Unable to connect to Indoor Cam -4” or sometimes -3. I don’t know if video is truly being stored on the Homebase 3 at this point, I’ll have to go trigger some events to test them. Anyway, the good news is that they are close to getting it working, the bad news is that currently, it isn’t working. Also, I thought the Homebase 3 was going to use Edge AI to “smarten” the other cameras so they do vehicle detection and facial recognition, but as of right now it looks like the only thing the Homebase is supposed to do is allow the cameras to record to it. I certainly hope that this isn’t the limit of this upgrade. Will update as I see more things happening.
Did you get a firmware update on the HomeBase 3?
I got the firmware update for the cameras, but my HomeBase 3 is still on 3.1.5.9 from March 7 so it doesn’t support additional cameras.
Just got 3.1.7.8 for one of my HB3 and all is well! So it looks like we need an app update, a camera FW update and a HB3 fw update to get this working. Again, it doesn’t look like this makes the cameras smarter, it just allows them to store recordings on the HB3…as of right now anyway. At least now we’re cooking with fire!
When is eufy going to take responsibility for their negligence. I have homebase 3 for months now and it cannot connect to any of the new products !! I have the dual ring bell ,pro floodlamp and a solar cam …. Why release a product that not half way completed , the newest products should be the first to be able to connect with the HB3 , very frustrating they give you dates for updates and those days come and leave and yet still no update this is ridiculous
So a couple of my indoor cams got the new firmware… strangely, 2 other identical ones did not, nor can I when I try to manually update???

I’ve just joined the Eufy community today. I’m disappointed to learn after the purchase of the add on dual camera doorbell that it won’t connect to the HB3 as was stated.
Apparently there is an update coming or a potential code that can be input to allow them to connect but I’m waiting for Eufy support to reply!
You can force a manual update. For me that didn’t work as well, so I emailed support, and they forced an updated which worked…
Why is the upgrade already

. I love eufy products but not willing to waste money if it won’t even work correctly
My wired spotlight camera will no longer connect to my homebase3, so now all it does is turn on when it senses motion, I paid good money for that “motion detector”. I have tried everything to get it hooked back up to my system to no avail. I started buying Blink cameras as they do not have as many issues as Eufy and they are a hell of a lot cheaper. So tired of these expensive cameras missing important events… they will not get another dime from me.
I had 9 wireless cameras, it was ridicules the amount of time it took to take them down and sync them, but there is more, then the HB3 would not connect to my Wi-Fi router in the next room so they had to switch it out… so I had to once again take down all cameras to sync with the replacement HB3. What a joke. Never again
There should be easier way of adding existing cameras by just moving it under the homebase 3 not syncing it again.

Will there be a separate back-up battery for homebase 3 like there is for the homebase 2. This is essential for me in case the power grid goes down. No power - no security is not an option.
