They are incrementally better than the S340, you have more controls over the sensitivity level for motion detection which has really help reducing false alerts tremendously and starting to record videos sooner, the 24/7 snapshot features is pretty cool, I have mine set to 3 minutes which is the lowest time frame youn can do to give you a full picture thought the day, you can really dial down your recording and notifications by having the option to record without being notify. And my favorite feature has to be the auto zoom tracking.

Thank you. That’s really informative and helpful. I intend to install my S4 using solar power. I take it yours has a permanent power supply as you mentioned 24/7 recording. Is the pre-roll recording function available when using solar power ?

I have one hardwire to power and another one on solar, what I was referring to was the solar camera which has a 24/7 snapshot feature with 5 options to take a picture every 3,5,15,30 or 60 minutes and they can be view as a time lapse in conjunction with the recorded videos and no the 4 seconds pre-recording is not available. I have encounter a bug where my camera charges with the solar panel, but it does not detect the solar panel I have contact with about it, it’s happened with both cameras when using the solar panels and the extension cables, when solar panel is connected it’s detected fine. My point being, when the solar panel is not detected and the camera is charging it allowed me to switch to continuous power on the app and was able to record 24/7 and do the pre-recording downside is how quickly it drains the battery.

OK. That’s interesting. I understand what you mean regarding the solar panel detection bug. My E340 Doorbell today displayed the scrolling battery symbol as though it had a solar panel connected. It does not and there is not even an option to do so. I wish there was. It is battery or battery and nothing else. I have also seen the same solar charging symbol on my S340’s in the middle of the night with zero light and zero street lights. Eufy clearly ha e some work to do.
When I receive my S4 and install it I will let you know whether I encounter the same bug issue. It may be a wider issue that we need to start a thread about and bring to Eufy’s attention quickly
I want an S4 but can’t justify the expense at the moment.
I don’t blame you. They are pricy, but compare to the S340 without any sales the $100 difference is more than justifiable. I order mine back in September and at the time Eufy increased the military/first responder discount from 20 to 30% and they were also having the gift card sales for the pre-prime event in October so I got the $650 gift card for $500 and %30 off the $650 2 camera kit for only $455 and still have money left over on the gift card. Since the official release the discount doesn’t apply to the S4 anymore sadly, I’m hoping for it to be on sale for Black Friday since I’m wanting to get one more S4 to cover all 4 corners of my house and I already have an S340.
How is the AI tracking with people moving from one side of your property to the other at close distances. The S340 struggles with this. The E30 is an improvement but can still fail

It’s a lot better. I had the S340 on the same location as this S4 and when I would walk by it to go into the side yard it would stop tacking the movement I turned with the S4 it fallows through the entire time only issue I found though was if I was to walk directly under the camera pressed against the wall it sometimes fails to track.
