Hello. I set a

Hello. I set a delay time (60s) before the alarm will sound on my camera in mode “leaving”.
However, the alarm sounds immediately once the camera detects a movement. This setting does not work?

I’ve asked eufy support about the same problem, but I think I’ve figured out the issue and a workaround.

Issue:

  • My cameras, C35, (and possibly others) do not recognize the Alarm Delay or Leaving Delay
  • There’s a small note under the delay settings that says: “Devices that turn off leaving delay time would still trigger an immediate alarm”
  • It isn’t clear what this means, but it appears to mean that my camera and others do not recognize or apply the alarm delays.
  • This is very poorly documented and poorly designed - the cameras should apply the alarm delays in addition to the HomeBase

Workaround:

  • Security Mode Settings - Setup the Alarm Delays and choose all of the cameras that need the delay time
  • Security Mode Settings - Make sure every camera has the Camera Alarm turned OFF (unchecked)
  • Security Mode Settings - Make sure every camera has the HomeBase Alarm turned ON (checked)
  • Setup an Automation task under: Smart → Automation tab
  • I called my Automation: Alarm sounds on cameras
  • Trigger = HomeBase Alarm
  • Actions = Camera 1 = Alarm, Camera 2 = Alarm, etc.

The HomeBase alarm does work with the delays for Alarm Delay and Leaving Delay. With the above settings, the camera alarms will only go off when the HomeBase alarm goes off. In this way, the camera alarms will not go off during the delay period, but will go off if motion is detected outside of the delays.

Hello! Thank you for your guidance. I discovered this alternative solution as well, and it is effective. I appreciate your detailed response.
