Hi All, what's

I’m concerned about my cameras given your post. What kind of weather conditions are they in? Excessive heat or cold? For how many months of the year? Rather expensive to be replacing all cams every 5 years…

Almost looks like acid rain on the lens something has taken the lens coating off

I hope this is just a one off thing.

I’d guess and say the warmth of the house itself and the location of the doorbell protects it from the elements… versus cameras around the house that would be more exposed…

I have yet to see about that… given I live out in sunny California, hopefully it extends the life on them…
Vmwe get some weather here where I’m at, but not to extreme…
I’d say highs in the summer about 105 and lows in the winter between 30 at its coldest to around 40…

Yes it is expensive. When working in tip top condition they are ok. However replacement cost on such a short duration just isn’t except able. Not for my pocket, will look at alternatives sadly

I buy through Amazon or BH Photo and if my Eufy device is over a certain amount money then I will pair it with an offered warranty, normally through Allstate or Asurion.

I purchased a S40 (now S230) a little over 2 years ago. I noticed the recorded videos were very blurry. I took the camera down an clean the lens and noticed the lens was pitted. I am in Southern California and I had my camera mounted on the front which is pointing to the south. Cleaning the lens doesn’t work. I figured the sun and the rain destroyed the lens coatings. I purchased a S340 and mount that under the eave of the house with the solar panel remotely mounted. Hopefully the lens will last longer.

why not put the coating on the inside of the lens

Why not test them prior to market, rather than let your customers do that at their cost. So many companies acting this way now.

Just needs a clean

Picture shows the lens after cleaning. The plastic seems to last better than the lens coating.
