Hi moms, I real

Hi moms, I really need your help.
I’m a first-time mom to a 15-day-old baby boy. For the first 2 days after delivery, I didn’t get any colostrum or breast milk. Even so, I continued hand expressing and pumping with my Spectra pump.
Every pumping session was extremely painful. I tried different flange sizes (24 mm, 28 mm, and 21 mm), but nothing seemed to help. A few days later, I developed painful lumps in my breasts. The pain became unbearable. That day, I tried my Eufy S1 Pro using Max Rhythm mode with a 21 mm flange. It was able to remove much more milk than before, and I finally felt some relief. Since then, I’ve been using the Eufy S1 Pro every 3 hours. However, I still have painful lumps that don’t completely clear after each pumping session. My nipples are also extremely sore, and the pain is so bad that I can’t even sleep comfortably or turn onto my side.
Has anyone experienced something similar? What helped you get rid of the lumps, heal sore nipples, and improve milk removal?

I used to put nipple butter or coconut oil on my nipples. I would get sore nipples a lot even with proper sizing. Maybe that will help? As for the lumps I never got them but one of the groups I’m in on FB a lot of women got the and they always got recommendations like massaging them or warm compresses

I would get a flange kit that come with a nipple measurer and make sure the flanges are truly the correct size. That reallt does make a difference. Most women are smaller snd need like a 15, 17, 19 flange. Im currently using a 19 with my second child. Also I would recommend heat and massage for about 5-10 minutes before pumping to try and relax the muscles. Wherever the lumps are you need to try and get the baby to suck from that angle and pump angled to pull from that area and release the build up. Hope this helps!

Ice packs for your breasts, Don’t use heat

Try to get some ice packs on top of the area to help with the inflammation and get a smaller flange size, your nipples are not supposed to get inflamed after pumping.

also if you have insurance try to connect with a lactation consultant, she would definitely help you with yhis

Dear mama, first, please let us send you the biggest, gentlest, and most supportive virtual hug! :yellow_heart: Welcome to the world of your beautiful baby boy. Pumping at 15 days postpartum is incredibly hard, and being in so much physical pain that you cannot even sleep or turn over is heartbreaking. Please give yourself some grace—pumping should NEVER be a painful sacrifice, and we are right here to help you find your comfortable and successful pumping setup!
To help resolve the clogs and ensure you are getting a thorough, comfortable empty every time, we highly recommend trying these 4 crucial setup adjustments:
:straight_ruler: Step 1: Use the Nipple Card to Find Your Correct Size
Using a flange insert that is too large or too small will physically trap milk in your breast.
Action: Use the Nipple Measurement Card included in your eufy box to measure your nipple diameter. The golden rule is to use an insert that is 1-2mm larger than your measurement. If you measure 15mm, you should be using a 17mm insert, not the 21mm.

:bullseye: Step 2: Center Your Nipple Perfectly
Ensure your nipple is centered in the flange tunnel before starting, and make sure the pump is securely sealed against your breast. Proper alignment is key to unlocking maximum milk flow.

:fire: Step 3: Leverage S1’s Soothing Heat Before Pumping
To clear stubborn lumps, you need warmth and relaxation, not aggressive suction.
Action: Before you start expressing, turn on S1’s soothing heat function for 3 minutes . This gentle warmth relaxes your breast tissue, dilates your blood vessels and milk ducts, and allows the milk to flow out easily without needing painful, high suctions.

:woman_health_worker: Clinical Note: Since you are in the crucial early weeks and experiencing severe pain, if the painful lumps persist, do not completely clear, or if you develop a fever, please consult an IBCLC (Lactation Consultant) or your healthcare provider immediately to rule out mastitis.

We are ready and waiting to help you make this right! If you need any 1-on-1 expert guidance with your setup, please email us directly at babysupport@eufy.com! :cherry_blossom::baby_bottle:

I’ve been taking sunflower lechtin to help prevent fat from clumping up in my breast milk. I also did cold compress and letting hot water hit my breast in the shower.

Also use pumping spray or nipple butter. Falange sizing helped. The eufy pump is a 24 mm and I had to use a 17 mm for comfort

When not pumping I used silverettes! They were absolute lifesavers! They help heal your nipple while also protecting it from rubbing or touching anything.

I agree. I think Mom should see the doctor or the lactation consultant for evaluation. In rare case, you could have an infection. They can also help you size your flange. Hang in there Mom. It will get so much easier. You’re very strong to keep going with all the pain.
