Hi, my vid-doorbell has stopped sending notifications to my phone. Anyone have any ideas TIA
Hi Jim! Missing notifications is a common headache, but usually an easy fix. Here are a few things you can check in order of ‘most likely’ to fix it:
- Check the eufy App Notification Settings
• Open the eufy Security app.
• Tap the three lines (Menu) at the top left > Settings > App Notifications.
• Make sure notifications are turned ON.
• Also, go to the Security tab at the bottom, select your HomeBase or Doorbell, and ensure the ‘Home’ or ‘Away’ mode you are currently using actually has the ‘Notification’ box checked. - Check your Phone’s System Settings
• iPhone: Go to Settings > Notifications > eufy Security and make sure ‘Allow Notifications’ is toggled on.
• Android: Go to Settings > Apps > eufy Security > Notifications. Ensure ‘Allow’ is on and check that the app isn’t being ‘Optimized’ for battery (which can kill notifications to save power). - Check the Motion Detection Settings
• In the eufy app, go to your Doorbell Settings (gear icon) > Motion Detection.
• Make sure it didn’t accidentally get turned off.
• If you have ‘Activity Zones’ set up, try deleting them temporarily to see if the notifications return—sometimes the zone isn’t catching the movement correctly. - Power Cycle the Device
• If none of the above work, try a quick restart. For most eufy doorbells, you can quickly press the SYNC button 5 times in a row, or just restart your HomeBase from the app settings.
If Castles idea doesn’t work I had this happen last year after a iPhone iOS update, notification stopped entirely I called eufy support and they suggested deleting the app and reinstalling it and it 100% worked for me. Deleting the app not just clearing the cache. You won’t lose your data but will have to sign back in with your password.
Thanks, as I couldn’t figure it out I did just that (delete app and reinstall) worked a treat. Thanks again
Thanks for your help, I ended up deleting the app then reinstalling it. Which did the job. Thanks again
