I’m planning to get more cameras with he Homebase2, but I also wanna do more home automation stuff. Most security systems are using z-wave to communicate with the sensors and so what I’ve been trying to find out is:
Does the Homebase use z-wave to communicate with the door sensors?
If so, can non-Eufy z-wave devices be paired to it; light switches, smoke alarms, etc?
Eufy doesn’t use Z-wave, but a proprietary protocol at 920 Mhz to communicate with the door and motion sensors. You cannot use Z-wave sensors with Eufy Homebase automations. They aren’t compatible.
There are some 3rd party Home automations being used with Eufy gear but they are pretty sketchy and not supported by Eufy but by independent developers. I don’t have a link, but you should be able to find information by searching for Home Automation here and on r/Eufycam on Reddit.
