You might want to get some deer deterrent spray if they find something they like they will keep coming back till it’s gone. The only problem with some of the deterrent spray is it is pretty bad smelling to us too. There may be other options out there. Check your local plant nursery.

Add fences to protect the canna otherwise the deer will come again
