How do I turn off the down ward lights on the door bell but still maintain motion detection ?

In my opinion the lights are just for illumination, not for the motion sensor itself.
I don’t have a doorbell camera with a light option but Like other cameras it should be in settings for that device. If not there, tap on the “smart” tab at bottom of home page > then modes then there’s a list of devices or the home base it is connected to, tap on that then you will see your home or away options tap on the gear 
icon scroll down to your device and turn off light alarm. Hope this helps. Here is a couple screenshots I didn’t post every step but only the last 2. If you’re still not sure how to do this just direct message me and I will add more pictures
Not positive, but I believe the lower LED lights are for recording in color night vision.
That options probably located in the Video settings for the camera.
You may be able to adjust the lights brightness, or able to turn them off completely. See what options are available in the video settings.
