How does the cameras connect to the Homebase 3

After you pair your cameras to the Home base 3, how does the data get sent?
Does the cameras use your ISP upload bandwidth, so for example, if each camera needs 2 mbps and you have 20 cameras, you’d need 40 mbps upload?
Or does the cameras use the wifi of the router and you don’t need to worry about the ISP upload?

This is while viewing the cameras on your home wifi on your phone that’s also connected to the wifi.

Thanks

I take it the company doesn’t respond to questions in the forums? The only 2 replies I received were from spam bots.

Hi, yeah this spammy stuff started occurring about 3 weeks ago…
And no ~ eufy doesn’t answer questions on here, they occasionally tell you about a a new product, giveaways and tips and tricks.
The forum is more of like users helping users out.

With the Wi-Fi it’s still using your ISP speed.

The minimum WiFi upload speed required for your eufy Cam is 2Mbps for the best possible user experience.

That being said not all of your cameras at the same time will be using it.

Internet requirements

  1. 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Network with a WPA/WPA2 protocol

eufy security devices cannot be connected to a 5GHz network.

  1. Internet with at least 2Mbps upload speed

  2. Your Wi-Fi network password

Note: For devices that must work with HomeBase, the Homebase must connect with your home router with an ethernet cable during the setup process for the first time. After setup, you can switch the HomeBase to a Wi-Fi connection.

Can someone comment on eufy cam3 system normal range distance between homebase and cameras, please?

I’ve posed the question to the chat and was told “26-30 feet”. That doesn’t make sense to me if homebase is placed inside home near internet router and outdoor cameras are positioned around the perimeter of the house.
I would think all cameras would exceed that 26-30 feet range.
Also, I’ve read other independent reviews of an installer placing a camera up to 400 feet away on a fence post from the homebase.

Any other thoughts on homebase-to-camera distance?

Thank you!
Dave

Just got my S330 kit today and VERY disappointed with a number of shortfalls - not least of which is the abysmal range of the proprietary wifi network that Eufy use between the HomeBase3 and the cameras - I could not even get the Dual Doorbell to connect to the HomeBase and its less that 20ft away and only on the other side of a UPVC window frame! - Why is the range so rubbish (normally 2.4GHZ wifi travels much further than 5GHz) - it also makes the response time really laggy (several seconds delay)
EUFY - PLEASE PROVIDE SOME ANSWERS I would prefer not to have to call your returns department and ship back almost £1000 worth of product!

It might not be a range problem, but interference on the 2.4 Ghz band. Try changing your router channel. The Homebase should switch to follow the router channel. That might solve your issue.
